The Journey of Christian faith

Alive is a group of paintings and textile work that is expressive of my Christian faith. The journey of battle with sins, with contrasting emotions of captivation (caught up in human nature) and free from my sin (covered by God's grace). Despite my struggles, despite falling down I am able to get back up. Persistence with faith is what it is to be Alive. As a result, the work is abstract, yet expresses my feelings directly. These abstract paintings and textile works allow me to express the feeling of being alive through my journey of faith. The colours and textures of my works aim to capture all of my experience, the struggles and the triumphs. Overall, the series invites the viewers to reflect on their spirit and encourage them in their journey for Jesus Christ.

Journey 1 - Constrained Spirit

It is when a person walks at night that they stumble, for they have no light.

Journey 2 - Receive New Heart

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Psalms 51:10

Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
